Job Creation

Although steady job growth over the past several years has returned employment levels to what they were before the onset of the Great Recession, it has not kept pace with the increase in the adult population. Numerous initiatives have been proposed to stimulate the economy and save or create jobs by boosting local hiring and investing in infrastructure and other pressing national priorities. Job creation needs to become a top priority. In deciding whether to support any jobs proposals, AARP will evaluate their potential for promoting economic growth in light of the association’s overall mission and priorities.
