Policymakers should explicitly allow private individuals to protect their rights in court. All legislation intended to protect individual rights should include a private right of action. 

Policymakers and the private sector should ensure that consumers and employees have the right to seek redress through the courts for injury or losses.

Options for alternative dispute resolution (ADR) should be available. These include mediation and arbitration.

Policymakers should encourage intergenerational cooperation.

Government workers should continue to have access to defined benefit (DB) plans. 

Modifications to retirement plans or plan formulas should hold harmless current beneficiaries and employees. They should also ensure the retirement security needs of future retirees. 

A variety of government policies and employer practices safeguard the rights of workers to fair treatment, safety in the workplace, and a measure of financial security.
